I am not know as the most graceful person. I tend to trip over my feet and just last week, I walked into our elevator door.
So I don't know why I (and Andrew) was so surprised by what transpired yesterday.

I decided to be home-made savvy and make my own chicken broth.
I had it boiled and was putting it into jars when the jar JUMPED from my hand!
Oh, I should backtrack a second and let you know that since it was hot in our tiny kitchen, I had just taken off my sweatpants.
Yes, I was canning in my underwear.
Dont judge.

So as I was saying, the jar JUMPED from my hand and smashed into the counter, shattering the mason jar and spilling boiling broth all over the counters, walls, floors, and me.
(Remember the bare thighs! Ouch!)

At this point everything slowed down (like in the movies).
I jumped from the hot broth burning me, slipped on the floor and landed, as luck would have it, on a piece of glass!
All this took a matter of seconds.
Thats when Andrew made it to the kitchen.
(We have a tiny apartment)

There I was, in my underoos, covered in broth and sitting on the kitchen floor, a puddle of blood quickly pooling by my foot.
I honestly think Andrew questioned our marriage in that moment.

Long story short, Im fine, the cut is healing nicely, and my kitchen almost doesn't smell like chicken anymore.

But since we had important things to do the next day (and it was sunny) I decided that I needed to "nice" up my bandage today!

Im nothing, if not fancy!

Ive been wanting to find a spot for our (limited) DVDs, and yesterday I found the perfect answer!
$2.50, some paper bunting and I am a happy wife!

Right now, at this very moment, all I want to do it sit across from you and talk about life.
And when we run out of topics, we could just hold hands because that would be enough.
But you're not here, and we cant talk face to face because miles seperate us.
Well, I can smell these flowers you sent, or look at pictures from before, but I can't wrap my arms around a moment in time.
So, I sit and think of what we will do when I finally see you again.
All I really want to do is enjoy each other company and maybe watch a movie or two about falling in love and growing old together.
And maybe you and I could fall in love and grow old together, too.

2011 is shaping up to be an eventful year!
The Canucks are in the playoffs!
(Judging by the horn honks after they won game 5, its a big deal!)

Andrew and I are leading a missions team of 12 people to Mexico in July.
We have the opportunity to reach out to people in a real, tangible way.
Im excited, not only for the chance to share the love of Christ, but also to see my youth kids grow and be out of their comfort zone.
Our youth has such potential to impact the nations! Im blessed to be a small part of leading them.
This week is Andrews last week of school! It has been a looooooong 12 weeks!
Although we saw each other on most weekends, Im relieved for it to be over!
He will go back for his last 12 weeks of school in October, but we aren't thinking about that right now!

And oh my how time flies! June 5th will be our anniversary! Im very excited to enjoy our surprise 1 year anniversary trip!
Andrew has been plotting and planning, scheming and spending and I have no idea what will go down!
But Andrew has the best surprises, so Im sure that I will not be let down!
We also have some pretty exciting news to share
(NO I AM NOT PREGNANT!)
but I will wait until we have some details hammered out before I share it!
Life is beautiful.
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our niece or nephew! They have had 3 labor starts/stops so far, so we know that baby is a tease!
And after that little one is born, we will welcome my other (not related but just as loved) niece!
To say Im excited to welcome these babes into the world would be an understatement.
I am very excited.
Very, very excited.
Very, very.....well, you get it.

You think you know someone...

Yesterday the man and I were watching "Little Rascals". Has that movie always been so funny?!

Almost immediately Andrew points something out:

Isnt she adorable! And doesnt she look awful familiar?!

We're on to you Michelle.
And we want your autograph.

As time goes by...

This is my husband and I, two weeks before our courtship began.

This was taken during one of our dates:

And this was taken at our wedding:

This? Well this was taken today:

I'd say we're getting better with time!

And then he took away my toy. And yet he still married me!

This picture makes me laugh.
Oh young love!
(This was, after all, almost 2 years ago!)

"When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?"
Psalm 8:3-4
